             abstract = "A Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging process is analyzed in 
                         detail, taking into consideration its parameters and the geometry 
                         and reflectivity properties of the scene illuminated by the radar 
                         antenna. The point spread function, which is the image generated 
                         by an ideal point target, is determined and the theoretical 
                         results are compared with a corner reflector image generated at 
                         INPE from the data collected by the E-SAR system of the German 
                         Space Agency DLR.",
